- Glenna Joanne (LEIPER) DILLION [0001] and Death Record [0016] indicate he died of suicide. Mary Sue (DILLION) AITCHISON [0007] stated that he had been dianosed with Throat Cancer. Upon hearing this, he decided he was going to remove the cancer himself. He walked out in the woods on his property one day and attempted to cut the cancer out of his throat with a knife. After being found by his family, he was taken to Columbus, Ohio from London, Ohio by train to be treated for the cut. This was a three-hour trip one-way. Medical attention, not being what it is today, treated the cut; but failed to get food into the poor man. Nelson's health did not improve; so he decided to go back home where he basically starved to death.
