BURR

Genevieve Burr, Age 85, of McArthur, died Sunday, June 13, 1999 at her residence. Born March 25, 1914 in Columbus, daughter of the late Francis Edwin and Anna Mabel Cassill Burr. She retired from Ross County Clerk of Courts office in 1979 to care for her mother. She attended East High School in Columbus, the Toronto Conservatory of Music and The Ohio, United States State University where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Dayton. She resided much of herlife in Dayton and Oakwood. Her later years were spent in Chillicothe and McArthur. In addition to being an accomplished Pianist, Genevieve was also a skillful painter. She is survived by a son, Henry Burr of McArthur. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Henry E. Gorney, sons John, Jerry and Richard Gorney. Memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, June 26, 1999 at McArthur Presbyterian Church with Rev. Larry Lane officiating. Inurnment will be in Cassill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Vinton County Children's Services c/o GARRETT FUNERAL HOME, P.O. Box 302, McArthur, Ohio, United States. 45651.
