January 30, 2001 Lois Joy (Dillion) Cole, 61, of Marysville, died Monday, Jan. 29, 2001 surrounded by her family at the Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, following an extended illness. Born Oct. 17, 1939 in Mechanicsburg, the youngest of eight children, to the late Charles Frank and Helen Mae (Lucas) Dillion. A content and free-spirited individual, Joy enjoyed crAft.s, gardening, genealogy and playing the piano. She enjoyed the music of Elvis Presley and Peter, Paul and Mary, and especially enjoyed spending time with her granddaughter, children and husband. She was the founder and proud operator of C and C Medihelp which assisted senior citizens in the administration of Medicare and supplemental insurance paperwork from 1985-1994. She formerly served as the Girls' Physical Education and Health teacher at North Union Junior High School from 1968-1973. She received her bachelor of science in education degree in 1961 from The Ohio, United States State University. She was a longtime member of the Marysville First United Methodist Church. Preceded in death by an infant son, Douglas Hugh Cole; a sister, Marjorie Ann (Dillion) Binkley; brothers, Charles William "Billie" Dillion, David Emerson Dillion, James Elwood "Jimmie" Dillion. Survived by her loving husband of nearly 40 years, Gerald N. "Jerry" Cole whom she married on June 18, 1961 at the Plumwood United Methodist Church; a daughter, Linda Joy Cole of Dublin; a son, Ronald E. "Ron" Cole of Marysville; a granddaughter, Emily Rene Cole; sisters, Geraldine "Jeanie" Streator and Phyllis Eileen Dillion, both of Plumwood; a brother, John Vernon "Jack" (Maxine) Dillion of Grandview. A Celebration of Joy's Life will be held Friday, Feb. 2, 2001 at 2 p.m. at the Marysville First United Methodist Church. The Rev. Richard A. Teller will be officiating. Graveside service will be observed prior to the memorial service on Friday morning at 11 a.m. in the Marlborough Cemetery in Delaware County with a luncheon for friends and family immediately following at 12:30 p.m. at the Marysville First United Methodist Church. Friends may also call from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 1 at the Mannasmith-Hale Funeral Home, in Marysville.
