| A very good time was had by all as they decorated the wagon, survived the baking sun, reminisced about the good ole days and handed out candy during the parade. Fellow classmates Don Russell, Dave Waugh and Kathy Weber, who were sitting along the parade route, received a peppering of candy as the wagon passed by them. It was done in fun because they should have been on the wagon. Nancy Thyng and Lois Bethel (not pictured) simply ran from their house and boarded the wagon to avoid being peppered. Tim and Margie Baker were very innovative. Instead of buying the normal candy to hand out during the parade, they brought Icees. What a cool idea. Everyone along the parade route, who were also baking in the sun, wanted the Icees. People even walked up to the wagon and asked for them. Boys on bikes followed the wagon for blocks until they got one (or two?). I can see this becoming a new trend at future parades. Many thanks go to all who participated, especially Mike and Pam Sayre for providing the tractor and wagon for all of us to ride on. |
