30th Class Reunion Golf Outing Photos...
The 30th Class Reunion Golf Outing was held at Thorn Apple Country Club on August 3, 2002. Organizer, Roger Cunningham, wanted everyone to assemble at the club house at 9:15 a.m. to prepare for the 10:00 a.m. tee-time. This time was used to form foursomes, rent golf carts, rent golf clubs, buy golf balls and take a group photo. The first foursome was Bobbie Rae, Margie Kennis, Patty Young and Keith Haley. The second foursome was Roger Cunningham, Ken Chase, Alan Hemsworth and Doug Koch. The third foursome was Tim Baker, Tim Dare, Mike Sayre and Tom Dillion. The last foursome was a threesome comprised by Lee Durban, Steve Fiets and Wayne Farmer. As the tee-time approached there weren't any clouds in the sky and the temperature was already on it's way up to the mid nineties. The golfing was setup as a "four persom scramble", which was a good definition of the golfers "scrambling" all over the golf course chasing down their golfs balls that didn't quite stay in the fairway. Besides playing golf, the main objective was to try to stay cool. The golf course did not allow coolers on the course and the holes they supplied with refreshing cool water were far apart. If anyone was waiting on the foursome in front of them, shade trees were always found to help keep cool. Everyone survived the temperature and there weren't any winners or losers at golf, just plain fun. The last group sank their final ball after four hours of very hot golf. A final group photo was taken and then everyone went home to prepare for the reunion that evening.

Many thanks go to Roger Cunningham for organizing the outing! Many thanks go to the pros of our group for your patience and advice for the novices. And, thanks to everyone who golfed.

There is talk of making this an annual event. Roger Cunningham, throughout the day and at the reunion, continually asked why do we only get together every five years? Everyone completely agreed with Roger and told him to organize the golf outing each year. An additional thought was to combine this annual golf outing with an evening cook-out get together. So, definitely check this website from time to time to see what plans have developed. Also, if you have other suggestions for getting together, please send email to the or leave a message on the Message Board.
