NOTES:

In the Fall of 2000 the "Dillon / Dillion & Allied Families" books, which were researched by the late Mae Dillon Moore, were published and available for purchase. The books are about the Dillon family that came to Goochland County, Virginia in 1734. They trace the family through Henry, Franklin, Giles and Tazewell counties in Virginia, the southern counties of West Virginia and into Ohio, Kentucky, North Carolina, Missouri and others.

Some of the family names in the books are Aker, Arthur, Altic, Altice, Ayres, Bailey, Belcher, Blankenship, Bolin, Callicott, Chitwood, Craft, Davis, Delph, Dillion, Dillon, Ferguson, Foster, Garretson, Grimm, Harmon, Hughes, LaRue, Martin, McKinney, Meadow, Metts, Nash, Pasley, Perdue, Plybon, Powell, Preston, Robertson, Shrader, Sink, Stephenson, Stump, Topping, Weaver and Webb.

The books are hard bound in black with gold lettering. The total pages of the books is 2806 (not counting the index pages). The pages are printed on acid-free paper and are Smyth sewn. Each book has its' own index, which makes it really great for look-ups in each book. Volume One has a title page, a memorial page to Mae Dillon Moore, a dedication page to Frank Arthur Dillon, a preface page, an acknowledgements page, an abbreviations page, a contents page and a 66 page index. Volume Two has a 78 page index. Volume Three has a 70 page index. These additional pages bring the total page count to 3027 pages. The first two volumes are two inches thick and the third volume is 2 and a half inches thick.

The flyer announcing the books stated the books are a limited, one-time printing, that will not be repeated. Individual volumes will not be sold; the tree volumes will be sold only in sets. The set was selling for $179.99, plus $10 for shipping.

My advice would be to contact Mary F. Karnes to verify the current status of the books. Hopefully, the books are still in print or are still available for purchase. Her address information is as follows:
