Hi again Susan,
My Gram Canter was born into the Perdew ( perdue) family in 1897 in Boone County, W.Va. Her Father and mother were Isaac and Arminta Green Perdew, his parents were Isaac and Nancy Hill Perdew, his parents were Thomas and Margaret Cole Perdew and his parents were Zachariah and Mary Elizabeth Coon(s) Perdue..then to Meshack. The spelling changed everytime someone sneezed...but it's the same family.
Yes,the Zachariah you name is the one and the same as the father of David King Perdue...the ages are hardly ever matches on any family....their birthdates and ages in that era were not as important to them as we think they are now...so there are a lot of discrepencies. I truly believe that a lot of these folks really did not know their ages or birthdates....most died young.
I am doing a pile of research online for this family....would you like to join me and share what we find ?
Zachariah married Mary Elizabeth in 1803...so her Age on the census is way off.....about 1850...Zach married a Sarah or Sally Wolf(e)who was either widowed or divorced and she had 2 children from the previous marriage..Mary and John Wolf.
The investigation continues.
