The birth place of Cumberland County would also tend to tie this William to our DILLON family. In the partial copy of the Book [0330] that Deanna Jean (ADAMS) HOLM [0096] sent me on all the Henry DILLON's, it is quoted that "William DILLON (Jr.) left Cumberland (County) about 1762-1763 and in various land transactions he named none of his children. He mentioned 100 acres bought of James DILLON and if he had been his son, the author believes he would have mentioned it. The land in question was willed to James DILLON by his grandfather William DILLON (Sr.) in 1744." This ties down that the land James DILLON inherited from his grandfather was located in Cumberland County and that's where this William was born. Although, again I do not have the actual documents: deeds, wills, etc.

Subject: [VAFRANKL] William H, Harrison b abt 1809 Franklin Co, VA

My GGG-GF William Henry Harrison was born abt 1809 in Franklin Co, VA, he married Cynthia 'Sina' DILLON on 23 Oct 1826 in Franklin Co, VA. 'Sina' was born abt 1809 or 1810, also in Franklin County to William DILLON & Frances 'Frankie' Blankenship. About 1843 William & Sina, with their children moved to Cabell Co, VA (WV)

Their children were all born in Franklin Co, except the last 3 listed below;

OTIS b 1829,
CELIA b 1831,
ABIGAIL LUCINDA b 1833,
CATHERINE b 1835,
WILLIAM b 1837,
JOHN HENRY b 1839,
MARY b 1841,
JAMES,
COLUMBIA
Salina

I gave the children's names in case any of the unusual names were known to be used in any of the HARRISON FAMILIES of Franklin Co, VA during the 1700s.

I am trying to locate ANY leads for whom William Henry Harrison's PARENTS may have been.

I am willing to research any Harrison males (born between 1760-1780) that may have been the father of William. The Parents would have been living in Franklin County at the turn of the century 1800-1820 period at least.

Somewhere I heard that William's Father's name MAY have been BEN, but there is NOTHING to support this, IF it is correct ??, he could have been a Benjamin, a Reuben, a Zebulon....

SO you can see my quandary....I have searched the Harrison Repository Information, No LUCK! I have tried through DILLON contacts, NO LUCK! I have tried via gedcoms on LDS, Ancestry.com, Kindred Konnections, Rootsweb, NO LUCK! I have posted to Harrison Query boards on every major host for genealogy, NO LUCK!

All I am trying to do is get a lead, so I can start the research necessary to prove or disprove.

PLEASE I need HELP, ANY leads appreciated! Carrie Bias Hoffert [hoffert@mindspring.com]

Subject: [VAFRANKL] Roll Call-Harrison

William Henry Harrison born abt 1795-1810 possibly in Franklin County, died 1881 in Cabell Co, WV married on 23 Oct 1826 in Franklin Co, VA to Cynthia 'Sina' DILLON born 1810 in Franklin Co, to William DILLON & Frances 'Fannie' Blankenship.

Children were:

1. Otis Harrison b-1829, Franklin Co, VA, married Ruth Frances Taylor
2. Celia Harrison b-1831, Franklin Co, VA, married David Lee Earles/Earl
3. Lucinda Abigail Harrison b-1832 Franklin Co, VA married Edward Franklin Shy *MY BRANCH
4. Catherine Harrison b-1835, Franklin Co, VA, married UNKNOWN
5. William R. Harrison b-1837, Franklin Co, VA married Lucy A. (MNU)
6. John Henry Harrison b-1839, Franklin Co, VA, married Rachel Frances Morris
7. Mary V. Harrison b-1841, Franklin Co, VA, married Edmund Payne & Swinfield Stanley (maybe Stanley Swinfield?)

** Abt 1843 the family moved from Franklin Co, Va to Cabell Co, VA (WV)

8. James T. Harrison b-1844, Cabell Co, VA (WV) married Victoria LeGrand
9. Columbia J Harrison b-1846, Cabell Co, VA (WV) married Obediah Ward
10. Salena R. Harrison b-1849, Cabell Co, VA (WV) married UNKNOWN

I have the lineage for the DILLON and Blankenship side of the family..... I am desperate to find the ancestry of William Henry Harrison the Father of this family. Further info I have from an article published by a descendent of the son, #1. Otis Harrison states the following "Family founded in VA, by Benjamin Harrison, born in London, father of Benjamin Harrison the "Signer" and that MY William Henry Harrison was a namesake and cousin of President
William Henry Harrison.

I do have a photo of My William and he strongly resembles the Presidents.....But I have been unable to find any further info for my William as regards his birth or parentage.

I have also gone through all descendent lineage of the original Benjamin Harrison of England, following each mail child (in each generation) until I reach the period of 1810 with no luck. As many of those branches are not complete, I have not been able to locate my William's parents with that backdoor approach either. He may be a part of that family line and is from one of the branches that I have been unable to trace down to 1810. Or the
entire story of the relationship may be a family myth of wishful thinking.

I do have some photos from the Harrison Family Cemetery in Cabell Co, WV and one of Lucinda Abigail Harrison Which I would be happy to share.

ANY HELP, ANY leads would be greatly appreciated.....Thanks, Carrie
