An 1842 court document on file in Franklin County, Virginia, suggests that many researchers may need to re-evaluate the information they have published about the number, names, and ages of the children of Jesse Dillion,, Jr. and Rebecca (Plybon) Dillion.

In this 1842 court document relating to the settlement of the intestate dower estate of Mary Elizabeth (Blankenship) Dillon, deceased widow of Jesse Dillion, Sr. -- the heirs of Jesse Dillion, Sr. are listed.Because four heirs [Elizabeth Pasley, Fanny Pasley, Delilah Sink and Jesse Dillon,Jr.]had died previous to 1842, the document named the deceased heirs' children and heirs as follows:Robert Pasley and William Pasley, Jr. for Elizabeth Pasley; Betsey Perdue, David Sink, Jr., and Jesse Sink for Delilah Sink; Lucy Pasley, Betey Bradley, Samuel Pasley, Daniel Pasley and John Pasley for Fanny Pasley; and Patsy Saunders, Fanny Dillion, John Dillion, Fleming Dillion, Sparrel Dillion, Davis Dillion, Stephen Dillion, and Jesse Dillion for Jesse Dillon, Jr.

The term "infant under 21 years of age" is used in listing Fanny Pasley's children and heirs. It IS NOT used in listing the children of Jesse Dillion, Jr. meaning they would have to have been born prior to 1821 [to be over 21 by 1842] Many reserchers now show several of the children of Jesse Dillion, Jr. to be younger than this.

Also, there is absolutely no mention in this document of Mary, Daniel, and Delilah -- frequently listed as he youngest children of Jesse Dililon, Jr.Might they be grandchildren?
