Elton M. Kile, 93, of Plain City dies June 22 at Wesley Glen Nursing Home, Worthington, Ohio.

He was owner and operator of Kile and Son Grain Elevator until 1964. He was a graduate of OSU Law School and Charter Member of Delta Kappa Chapter of Pi Kappa Alpha.

He was a lifelong active member of the Plain City United Methodist Church, member of Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, Aladdin Shrine, Eastern Star, Charter Member and first president of the Plain City Lions Club and a member of Ohio Grain, Feed and Fertilizer Association. A Veteran of World War I, he was a member of American Legion and was the first Commander of VFW Post No. 3268 of Plain City. He was a Director of the Farmers National Bank, a member of the National Business Men's Association, and served 14 years in the Ohio Legislature as Representative of Madison County. He was an honorary member of the Plain City Fair Board.

He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Hazel) Fravel; and daughter-in-law, Mrs. James (Opal) Kile, both of Plain City; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, James, in 1970; and his wife, Edith, in 1971.

Funeral services were held June 25 in Plain City United Methodist Church, with Reverend Richard Smyers officiating.

Interment was in Forest Grove Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home, Plain City.
