Unknown Newspaper Tuesday, May 23, 1916 EMILY HESTER BALL Mrs. Emily Ball, who fell and broke her limb a week or so ago, died Sunday at the home of her son, Abram. Funeral services were held at the home Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. conducted by Reverend A. L. Rogers with burial in Forest Grove Cemetery. The following obituary was read: Emily Hester Ball was born December 1, 1833, and departed this life May 21, 1916, aged 82 years, 5 months and 20 days. She was the daughter of David and Nancy Jane Parkison, being the youngest of ten. She was united in marriage to George W. Ball on January 2, 1854. To this union were born five children, two girls and three boys, of whom two boys survive. They are Abraham Ball of Plain City, and David Ball of near Gillivan. She was a good and faithful christian having joined the Christian Church at Mt. Sterling at the age of fifteen. Her father soon moved from there so she could not go to that church so she joined the Methodist Church at Gillivan and then later she moved to Plain City and joined The Methodist Church there in which she has been a faithful member every since, and her whole heart and soul were in her church. It was very few services she ever missed until ill health prevented her from going. She was a kind and loving mother and her thoughts were always of her children. She who has gone forth could no be supported on her solitary path by earthly friends, whose strength was given sweetly and tenderly to this precious mother whose heroic devotion never faltered. They could not detain her by the clasp of earthly love but after the last words were spoken, the last sign of recognition gone, a smile of peace settled on her face, which proclaimed victory and we knew she was safe in the arms of Jesus. Besides her two sons she leaves 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren to mourn their loss. So free from all pain; 0 awake her not, sweet spirit, To suffer again; She slumbers so peacefully, 0, let her sleep on, Her sickness is ended, Her troubles are gone. 0, think what she suffered Obituary
