Mrs. Emaline Hines was born on a farm in Jefferson Township, Madison County, Ohio, near Gillivan, March 6, 1855, and passed to the life eternal from her home, South Union Street, London, Ohio, Tuesday morning, March 9, 1920. being 65 years of age. She was the youngest of a family born to Jacob and Evaline Thomas, three of whom now survive: Mrs. Polly Grabill, of London; Mrs. William Deardorf, of Gillivan, and Mrs. George Haines, of near West Jefferson.

Her husband, Michael Hines, died some years ago, leaving his widow and their daughter, Mrs. Leroy Hill, of South Union Street, with whom Mrs. Hines made her home until her decease. Her life in London extended over a period of 33 years.

She was a member of the Methodist Church, at Gillivan, from her girlhood, changing her membership to the London Church upon her removal here.

When taken ill last Saturday, her 65th birthday anniversary, she told her friends that she would not recover and to her neighbor, Mrs. Grant Hutchison, she said that she felt fully prepared to meet her Savior. The end came peacefully, and with a smile upon her face she dropped into the dreamless sleep.

"Sunset and evening star,
And one clear call for me;
And may there be no moaning at the bar
When I put out to sea."
