Walter Dillion, Son of Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Dillion, of near West Jefferson, who gave up his life for Liberty in a French hospital July 29. He was one of the first men to become a member of Company C when organized and served on the Mexican border. He died of wounds received in action and is the third members of Company C to give his life Liberty and the fifth Madison County man to make the supreme sacrifice in the great war against the Hun. He was 21 years of age and was well known in this county and had a fine record in his company.
