Harry Emerson Dillion, 78, of London, died at 10:20 a.m. Wednesday, August 2, 2000 in the Madison County Community Hospital.

Born November 17, 1921 in Range Township of Madison County, he was a son of Herman and Stella E. (Tatman) Dillion.

A member of the Newport Church of Christ in Christian Union, he had also been a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was a lifelong farmer and laborer before retiring in 1985.

Survivors include his wife, Berniece (Ames) Dillion; daughters and sons-in-law, Mae and Ronald Avery of Lockbourne, Donna and Herb Hoover of Greenfield; grandchildren, Buffie Smith of Marysville, Tiffany Hoover of London, Timothy Avery of Lockbourne, John Hoover II of London; stepgrandson, Randy Avery of London; four great-grandchildren; one step-great-granddaughter; sisters, Ruth Butcher of London, Louise Dunston of Newport, Doris Morris of London, Norma Puckett of London; numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Clarence and Ralph Dillion.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. Friday. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Eberle Funeral Home, London, with Dr. Steven Richardson and Reverend Ervin Baldwin officiating.

Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery, London.
