Individual Data Valley Funeral Home, Whitesville, West Virginia July 10, 2002 Carl E. Petry Jr., 80, of Colcord, died Friday, July 27, 2001, at Charleston Area Medical Center following a long illness. Born November 19, 1920, at Winifred, he was the son of the late Carl E. Petry Sr. and Hester Trail Petry. Mr. Petry was a retired miner, member of the UMWA and Veteran of World War II in the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Imogene "Emma" Dillon Petry; a brother, Bobby Basil Petry; and two sisters, Ivie and Icie Patterson. Survivors include his wife, Arlene Dillon Petry; a son, Roy Petry and his wife, Ethel, of Ameagle; a brother, Jackie Petry and his wife, Arlene, of Sandbranch; three grandchildren, Scott and his wife, Angie, of Colcord, Jeffrey and his wife, Dawn, of Fremont, Michigan, and Shawna of Ameagle; and a great-grandson, Kodie Allen of Colcord; and several nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley, with the Reverends Cecil McClellan and Jeffrey Petry officiating. There will be no visitation.
