William Frank "Uncle Bill" Aitchison, also known as "Dr. Pepper", age 71, of Plain City, became one with the Lord on the morning of June 21, 2007, at Union County Memorial Hospital as his loved ones surrounded him.

Bill was born September 26, 1935, in Detroit, Michigan. He was a nationally known model car builder. He consulted on car history books and wrote several articles for car magazines. Bill retired from the Plain City Post Office in 1992, after 30 years of service. He was a member of the Plain City United Methodist Church and attended Cypress Wesleyan Church in Galloway, Ohio. He was active in model car club, writing, and civic activities. He was a member of the Plain City Police Auxiliary, the Civil Air Patrol, a SCUBA diver, and an original member of the Plain City Jaycee's. His greatest joy was his family.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Dorothy (Dustin) Riddick; and a son-in-law, Tony Barker.

Those he loved and left behind include his loving wife of 50 years, Mary Sue (Dillion) Aitchison; daughter, Terri-Jo "TJ" (David) Adams of Plain City; two sons, Michael (Tuwana) Aitchison of Plain City and Rick (Marikay) Aitchison of Grove City; and twin daughters, Amy Barker of East Liberty and Kathy (Jim) Hostetler of Plain City; grandchildren, Kacey (Dan) Hothem, Ashley, Nathaniel, Abigail, Jarrad, Rachel, Rebecca and Michaela; one great-grandson, Raymond; his brothers, Robert (Ann) Aitchison of North Carolina, David (Michelle) Riddick of Saginaw, Michigan; sister, Eve Perry of Saginaw, Michigan; last but not least, loving companion and little dog, Tilly.

Friends may call 2-6 p.m. Sunday at Ferguson Funeral Home, 202 E. Main Street (State Route 161 W.), Plain City, where service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, June 25, 2007, with Pastor Dale George officiating. Burial in Forest Grove Cemetery.
