Hugh Leiper, 86, of Point Pleasant, died Saturday at St. Mary's Medical Center, Huntington.

He was a WW II and Korean veteran.

Memorial service will be 7 p.m. Sunday at Deal Funeral Home, Point Pleasant. Visitation will be two hours prior to service Sunday at the funeral home.

Hugh Leiper, 86, of Point Pleasant, West Virginia died Saturday, October 10, 2009 at St. Mary's Medical Center, Huntington, West Virginia.

A memorial service will be 7 p.m. Sunday, October 18, 2009, at Deal Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, West Virginia, with American Legion Post #23 of Point Pleasant and VFW Stewart Johnson Post #9926 of Mason, West Virginia, conducting military service. Friends may call on the family from 5-7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Hugh Leiper, 86, of Point Pleasant, West Virginia, died Saturday, October 10, 2009 at St. Mary's Medical Center, Huntington.

He was born November 1, 1922 in Augusta, Ohio to the late Samuel Harper and Lucretia I. Bashaw Leiper.

He was a WW II and Korean veteran, a Printer / Typesetter for the Columbus Dispatch and Methodist Publishing Co. He was a founding and lifetime member of the VFW Post #4044 of Columbus, Ohio, lifetime member of the American Legion Post #23 of Point Pleasant, and a lifetime member of VFW Stewart Johnson Post #9926 in Mason.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Marilynn Griesheimer Leiper; daughters, Lucretia A. Leiper-Goodman of Raineysville, Kentucky and Kelly Renee Scott of Point Pleasant; step-daughters, Cindy (Jerry) Taynor of Cleveland, Tennessee, Tammy Herman of Grove City, Ohio and Jodie Beidel of Columbus, Ohio; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be 7 p.m. Sunday, October 18, 2009 at Deal Funeral Home, Point Pleasant, West Virginia, with the American Legion Post #23 of Point Pleasant and VFW Stewart Johnson Post #9926 of Mason and Rev. Donald Kelly officiating. Friends may call on the family 5-7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
