Chalmer "Jim" Collins, 83, left this earthly life on Monday, April 2, 2012.

Chalmer was born on June 28, 1928, in Oil Springs, Kentucky, the son of Virgil and Verna (Blanton) Collins.

After growing up in Saint Paris, Ohio, Chalmer graduated from Graham High School. He then served in the Armed Forces during the Korean War and retired from International Harvester in 1991 after 29 years of service. He was a faithful member of the Lafayette United Methodist Church.

Chalmer is survived by his loving wife, Joan (Weese) Collins; daughter, Cynthia; son, Duane and his wife Susan; grandson, Kyle; granddaughter, Cassidy; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Herschel; sisters, Jewel Bayes, Opal Curylo and Katherine "Kitty" Walls.

Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 5, 2012, in Oak Hill Cemetery, London. Pastor Carolyn Peacock will be officiating. Visitation will not be observed.

If they wish, friends may make memorial contributions to the Madison County Meals on Wheels Program, c/o Madison County Hospital, 210 N. Main Street, London, Ohio 43140.

The family is being served by the Eberle-Fisher Funeral Home and Crematory, 103 N. Main Street, London, Ohio 43140.
