Vernon R. Dillion, 81, of Washington Court House (formerly of London), died Sunday morning, December 4, 2016 at his home surrounded by his loving family after a lengthy illness.

Born May 30, 1935 in Summerford, Ohio, he was the son of Eldon and Louise (Pennell) Dillion.

Survivors include daughters, Debra (Rick) Forrest and Sandra Baker, both of Washington Court House; step-daughter, Bridgette (Jeremy) Straight Columbus, Ohio; step-sons, Jason (Jennifer) Rothe of California and Robbie (Gwyn) Ropp of Grove City; grandchildren, Ashley, Lindsey, Amanda, Brittany, Amber, Morgan, John Michael, Jordan, Jacqueline, Bailey and Brian; great-grandchildren, Kylee, Kaleb, Dominick, Bella, Sarah, Kaydee, Brylee and Trey; brother, Allen (Janet) Dillion of South Carolina; sisters-in-law, Pam Dillion of Mechanicsburg, Susan Dillion of Florida, Velma Cordial of Canal Winchester; brother-in-law, Bob (Carole) May of Mechanicsburg; nieces and nephews, Karmen, Cheryl, Brent, Lori Ann and Amy; several great-nieces and nephews.

Vernon was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Edwin and David Dillion; and wife, Janet L. Dillion.

Graveside services for family and friends will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, December 9, 2016 at Kirkwood Cemetery. Visitation will not be observed, as per Mr. Dillion's request. Cremation has occurred.

The family is being served by the Eberle-Fisher Funeral Home and Crematory, 103 N. Main Street, London, Ohio 43140.
