Donald Lowell Dillion, 72, of London, died Friday, Nov. 13, 2015 in his residence surrounded by family.
Born June 8, 1943 in Springfield, he was a son of Donald and Pauline (Henry) Dillion.
Lowell started his career as a claims adjustor with the Indiana Insurance Company. He was a long time insurance agent with Dillion Insurance and Andrix and Herman Insurance. He was also a U.S. Navy Veteran, a member of the VFW, a previous member of the Buckeye Wheelers Basketball team, and a long time member of St. John's Lutheran Church, where he had served on the church council and had been the director of disabled ministries which he helped establish. Overcoming many obstacles through his life, Lowell maintained a positive attitude and enjoyed life to the fullest.
Survivors include his best friend and wife of 50 years, Shirley (Milo) Dillion; daughter, Laura (Roger) Toops; son, David Lowell Dillion; grandchildren, Anthony (Jennifer) Toops, Kaitlyn, Jordan and Jacob Toops and David Logan Dillion; brother, Jim (Sharon) Dillion; sister, Chloe Anna (David) Vitalis; sister-in-law, Esther Dillion; several nieces and nephews, many cousins and special friends including Don Hayes of Kentucky and Judy Killebrew of London.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Gale and Wendell; and special family friend, Eva Williams.
Funeral services will be held at noon Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2015 at St. John's Lutheran Church, London, Ohio, with Pastor Orinda Hawkins-Brinkley officiating. Interment will follow at Kirkwood Cemetery, London. Friends may call at the Eberle-Fisher Funeral Home and Crematory, 103 N. Main St., London, from 3-8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17.
