Dr. John C. Lude, DDS, MS 80 of Columbus, passed away at OSU Medical Center on May 11, 2016.

Born on March 7, 1936 to the late Graydon and Dorothy (Stark) Lude in Youngstown, Ohio. His passion for Orthodontics expanded over 52 years. He worked as adjunct assistant professor for The Ohio State College of Dentistry for 30 years. He was an associate staff member at Children's Hospital as part of the Cleft Palate Team for 45 years. He retired from the military in 1994 as a Colonel in the United States Army office of the Surgeon General at the Pentagon under the Reagan administration. John loved to garden, was an avid collector of model trains and enjoyed spending time with his family.

He is survived by wife of 24 years, Gerline (Sturgell) Lude; children, Tamara (Bill) Sauter, Cheryl (Troy) Bradley, Glenn (Jenny) Sanders, Tony Sanders, Pamela, Chris, Jim and Tracy, and 14 grandchildren; siblings, Jim (Linda) Lude, Bob Lude and Tim (Sandy); brother-in-law, Bill Zeller.

Preceded in death by siblings, Karen and Lanny; and sister-in-law, Emily.

Friends may call at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin Granville Road, Columbus, Ohio on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. until time of service at 7 p.m.
