He was previously associated with the Peace Corps. He is survived by step-father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. James (Viola) Shimp, Baltimore; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Good, Reynoldsburg; paternal step-grandfather and grandmother, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Miller, Columbus; brothers, Richard Smyers, Ostrander, Ohio, and William Smyers, Columbus; sisters, Mrs. Patricia Hansman, New Delhi, India, and Mrs. Shirley French, Pataskala; nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at Cotner Funeral Home, Reynoldsburg Chapel, 7369 E. Main Street, where services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday. Rev. Scott Kelso will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. |
