Mary M. Mathys, 88, of Marysville died Friday evening, December 31st, at The Gables.

She was a professional pianist and, along with her husband, operated antique stores in Marysville and Pharisburg. She was a long time member and pianist and organist for the Christian Assembly Church. Mary was known around the community for her musical abilities having played for many community functions, she was also a founding member of the Late Bloomers. Mary was also a longtime member of the Windsor and Community Seniors and a volunteer at Memorial Hospital and at Windsor.

She was born November 19, 1922 in Union County to the late Lewis Wilbur and Rosa Dillion. She married Thomas D. Mathys August 8, 1941 in West Mansfield. He preceded her in death June 29, 1985 as did her fiance of 6 years, John Lowe.

Mary is survived by her children, Phoebe L. Mathys, J. Keith (Sandy) Mathys both of Arcadia, Florida, Thomas D. (Helen) Mathys Jr., Douglas M. (Robin) Mathys both of Marion; 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren.

Calling hours will be Tuesday from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the Ingram Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Christian Assembly Church with the Reverend Donald Moceri officiating. Her grandsons; Greg, Chris, Brent, Dustin, and Jason Mathys, and grandson-in-law, Jerry Jordan will be her pallbearers.

Burial will follow at Raymond Cemetery next to her husband.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Christian Assembly Church in care of the funeral home.
