Ingram Feneral Home, Marysville, Ohio Tuesday, July 23, 2024 Alice L. Adams, 96, of Marysville, passed away peacefully Monday morning, July 22, 2024, at Heritage Senior Living surrounded by her loving family. The youngest of five children, Alice was born July 21, 1928, in Stow, Ohio, to the late Otto N. and Ethel E. (Ruple) Chamberlain. A 1946 graduate of Kent State High School, she and her high school girl friends called themselves the "Double Nickels" group, and they kept in contact throughout their entire lives. After graduation, Alice married Roy Adams Sr. on August 15, 1948, then began her longtime working career as Postmaster for the Milford Center and the Unionville Center post offices until she retired, all while being a dedicated wife and mother. A woman of strong faith, Alice was a longtime member of the Milford Center United Methodist Church. She was also a steadfast volunteer for the OCCL, and remained a devoted volunteer at Memorial Hospital, which she began in 1993. Alice enjoyed many friendships during her years in a bowling league, and she spent a lot of time enjoying her travels, specifically Europe and Hawaii, where she visited 8 times. Stubborn, yet loyal and strong willed, Alice's passion was her dedication to her family. Her work ethic and selfless giving will be reflected through her family for generations to come. Alice is survived by her children, Mike (BJ) Adams of Milford Center, Chuck (Barb) Adams of Marysville, Dave (TJ) Adams of Plain City, Kevin (Dawn) Adams of Warsaw, Roy (Teresa) Adams Jr. of Milford Center, and Allison (James) McCarty of Zanesfield; 12 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 24 years, Roy Adams Sr., in 1972; a daughter, Marilyn Burns in 1992; siblings, Verrick "Bud" (Dorothy) Chamberlain, Vivian (Lester) Lavaco-Dantz, Vernon (Florence) Chamberlain, and Bette (Hurley) Clayton; and in-laws, Lucille (Pete) Hammond, Virginia (Damon) Phelps, Rosemary (William) Brill, and John (Eleanor) Adams. Calling hours will be 1:00-3:00 p.m. Sunday, July 28, 2024, at Ingram & Snyder Funeral Home, 975 N. Maple Street, Marysville. Private family graveside services will be held Monday, July 29, 2024, at Milford Center Cemetery with the Reverend Pamela Connolly officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Memorial Hospital Mobile Meals, or any charity of choice in care of the funeral home.
