Photo from her obituaries Ferguson Funeral Home, Plain City, Ohio Tuesday, August 13, 2014 Ruby Lee Rice, known affectionately as Ruby Red Dress, went to her loving Lord at the age of 84 in her home with her loving family by her side on August 12, 2024, in Plain City, Ohio, the same town where she was born on July 22, 1940. Ruby was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, embodying the spirit of a true "crazy cat lady" with a deep affection for her feline companions. Ruby graduated from Jonathan Alder High School in the Class of 1959 before embarking on a career at Ranco, from which she retired after many years of dedicated service. Her life was marked by a strong commitment to her community and faith, actively participating as a Sunday School (Youth) Teacher in the Unionville Center United Methodist Church. Her hobbies included a unique passion for collecting cats, gaming, reading, an avid motorcycle rider and enthusiast and cherishing the time spent with family and friends. Ruby's legacy is carried on by her daughter, LeAnn Davidson; son, Dale (Tina) Rice, and brother, Bob Tobin. She was a proud grandmother to Josh (Flor) Frey, Rachel (Richie Nettleton) Frey, Sarah (AJ) Walker, Becky (Dustin) Brown, Corey (Charity) Rice, Heather (Orion), Kelsey Carl, and Piston. Her great-grandchildren, Carisa, Nicole, Luke (Emma), Lillian, Cameron, Brooke, Sophia "Sofo", Becca, Abrianna, A'nyah, Asianah, Quincy, Corey Jr., Kaylyn, Jacob, Leah, and Riley, also survive her. Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Edna; baby brother; and in-laws, Frank and Cora. A Celebration of Life will be held on September 21st, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Plain City Youth Building.
