The Marion Star, Marion, Ohio Sunday, October 25, 2009 Anita Sturgeon, age 97, died Wednesday October 21, 2009 at her home near Mt. Vernon. She was born August 22, 1912 in Union County to Leila (Arnold) and Denver Barry. She was a homemaker and spent most of her life in Scioto Township. She was a member of the Green Valley United Methodist Church in Mt. Vernon and the Ostrander Senior Citizens. She is survived by four daughters, Connie (Richard) Fetter of Marion, Maxine (Richard) Kelley of Ashley, Betty (Donald) Owen of Mt. Vernon, and Donna (Charles) Pletcher of Marietta, Georgia; 18 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Arlen in 1961; her husband, Arnold in 1976; one great-grandson, Rick Kelley; and two great-great-grandsons, Kevin Chaffin and Stanley Beery. A graveside service for the family was held in Claibourne Cemetery, Richwood with Reverend Gerald Bell officiating. Robinson Funeral Home, Delaware is in charge of arrangements.
