Photo from her obituary Hardage - Giddens Chapel Hills Funeral Home and Cemetery, Jacksonville, Florida Friday, April 25, 2025 Stephanie Ann Russell, age 89, of Jacksonville, Florida went to be with her Lord and Savior on April 24, 2025. She passed away peacefully at home with her loving family by her side. Stephanie was born on February 28, 1936, in Evansville, Indiana to parents, Cullen and Laverne Williams. She graduated with honors from Bosse High School and earned her nursing degree from Deaconess Hospital in Evansville. She worked as an ER Nurse at Welborn Memorial Hospital for 25 years and after moving to Jacksonville, Florida. She served as the Corporate Nurse at JM Family (Toyota) for the remainder of her career. Stephanie was passionate about nursing and loved helping and healing others but by far, her greatest passion and joy in life was being a wife and mother to her three children and grandma (Nanny) to her 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Stephanie was a member of Hodges Boulevard Presbyterian Church, the Morocco Shrine Temple Sheba's, and several bridge and canasta clubs. She, along with her husband, enjoyed entertaining family and friends, golfing, shrine events, and cheering for the Florida Gators - but mostly enjoyed traveling to Atlanta, Georgia and Charlotte, North Carolina to visit her children and grandchildren. Stephanie led a rich and meaningful life, a brilliant and nurturing soul who exemplified "a life well lived". Stephanie was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Russell; and brother, Charles Williams. Surviving Stephanie are her three children, Terry (Tracey) Russell, Stacey (Michael) Holcomb, and Kelly (Dan) Hild; her grandchildren, James "JJ" (Abigail) Russell, Chad (Hannah) Russell, Tyler (Sarah) Holcomb, Kelcey (Bill) Ferguson, and Sarah (Nick) Holcomb - Steel; 8 great-grandchildren - Elodie, Georgia, Margo, Noah, Ollie, Jeremiah, Will and Andrew; her brother, Roger (Sheila) Williams; and several nieces and nephews. Please join the family for a celebration of Stephanie's Life at 11:30 am on Saturday, May 3, 2025. The celebration will be held at Hodges Boulevard Presbyterian Church - 4140 Hodges Boulevard, Jacksonville, Florida 32224. Following the service, a reception will be held at the family's residence - 4006 Glenhurst Drive N, Jacksonville, Florida 32224.
