Anderson McDaniel Funeral Home, Pomeroy, Ohio Tuesday, May 3, 2022 Frederick Clyde Johnson Sr., 82, of Shade, passed away on May 2, 2022. He was born on October 22, 1939 in Columbus, son of the late Walter Clyde Johnson and Elizabeth Mae Cassill Johnson. Mr. Johnson was a veteran of the United States Air Force and a life-long mechanic at various companies in the Columbus area. He was an avid hunter and a family man. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Rosalie Johnson; children, Fred Jr. (Patti) Johnson and Pamela (Darryl) Joyce; grandchildren, Curtis (Laura) Johnson, Stephanie (Jason) Young, Courtney (DJ) Schleich, Shayna (Cody) Schleich, Drew (Lisa) Joyce and Haylie (Cody) Duke; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Beverly McGuire and Jean Panthana. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 5, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Tim Paulsen officiating at Anderson McDaniel Funeral Home in Pomeroy. Visiting hours will be on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Burlingham Cemetery where military honors will be presented by the V.F.W. Post 9926.
