Thomas W. Karshner, 50, of Hallsville, passed away on October 19, 2015 at his home surrounded by family.

Tom was born in Chillicothe, Ohio on October 29, 1964 to Ruby Karshner and the late Larry P. Karshner.

He is survived by a son, Zachary Thomas Karshner; brother, Larry (Billie) Karshner; sister, Charlene "Dolly" (Gianni DiToro) VanHoose; niece, Shelby VanHoose; and nephew, Liam VanHoose.

Tom graduated from Logan Elm High School and Pickaway Ross CTC in 1983. He was an employee for 20 years at the Ross Correctional Institution before he was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS).

Tom's family would like to sincerely thank each hospice nurse who treated Tom with compassion and kindness, as well as, his aide, Candace.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, October 24 at 1:00 p.m. at the Hallsville Cemetery with Reverend Kevin Green officiating. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the Hill Funeral Home, Kingston.
